The SCV Community Service Corps was founded with a single purpose — to honor our Southern heritage through acts of service. We believe that remembrance is not limited to monuments, ceremonies, or the study of history; it is also expressed in how we treat others today. The truest measure of respect for our ancestors lies not only in preserving the past, but in living out their virtues of duty, compassion, and neighborly care.
Our members, drawn from the ranks of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, include skilled tradesmen, craftsmen, laborers, and volunteers from every walk of life. Each brings unique abilities and a shared commitment to helping those in need — especially veterans, seniors, widows, and families who lack the means or physical ability to maintain or repair their homes. Whether through professional expertise or the simple willingness to lend a hand, our Compatriots give freely of their time and talents to strengthen and uplift their communities.
The work of the Community Service Corps is both practical and deeply meaningful. We assist with tasks such as repairing roofs, building access ramps, clearing debris, restoring damaged structures, improving safety conditions, and performing essential home maintenance. Each project we undertake — no matter how large or small — reflects our enduring values: duty to those who came before us, honor in how we conduct ourselves, and commitment to the well-being of our neighbors. By combining our hands, hearts, and heritage, we uphold the Southern tradition of neighbor helping neighbor.
Beyond the physical work, the CSC fosters fellowship, unity, and a sense of purpose among our members. It provides opportunities for Compatriots to serve alongside one another, build friendships, and demonstrate the positive impact the Sons of Confederate Veterans can have in the community. Through these acts of service, we counter misconceptions, strengthen relationships, and showcase our organization’s true character: men who act with integrity, humility, and compassion.
In every task we complete and in every life we touch, we reaffirm the ideals upon which the SCV was founded — remembrance, respect, and responsibility. The SCV Community Service Corps ensures that our legacy of honor lives on not only in the history we preserve, but in the good we do today. It is a living tribute to our ancestors and a promise to our communities that we will always stand ready to serve.
